Girls: Today the girls XI went to play Tekanda Girls Cricket Academy and won by 16 runs. Aimee hit another good knock coming in at number five today staying till the end to finish with a total of 157. Hettie got more than a run a ball scoring 29 runs off 28 balls whilst also running really hard besides the heat. Immy made her debut batting for the Girls XI. Scarlett also made a debut for opening for the XI. Phoebe got her first ever wicket for the Girls XI; she bowled 4 overs with each over being an improvement. Suri then got a caught and bowled making an outstanding wicket. We ended up playing a close match, but we won by 16 runs. After the game, we were invited to lunch with the Foundation. It was traditional food which we ate with our hands which was very entertaining. We heard about the history of the foundation from Richard and Charlie who set up the foundation a few years ago, they also showed us round their classrooms where they have classes for young children and even adults who want to learn cooking or dress making. It was very eye opening experience and gives some of the girls ideas about helping out after school.

Boys: Firstly, we got up at 7:30 and went to breakfast before we got onto the bus to head to the turtle hatchery. At the turtle hatchery we learnt about the turtles in Sri Lanka and then were able to touch and hold some of the turtles. We saw green sea turtles, olive Ridley sea turtles and leatherback sea turtles. After this, we travelled to a water safari where we saw and held crocodiles. We then went to the foundation of goodness and had a look around all of the good that they do. We then got back onto the coach and made our way to lunch which was hosted by the foundation of goodness. They provided breaded chicken, rice and a selection of vegetables. We also had the option to buy a T-shirt from the foundation which some of us did. Afterwards, we got back on the bus and headed to Galle to have a sightseeing tour, then some free time afterwards which was used to walk around and enjoy the scenery and to buy some items from the shops around the city. After a long day of travelling the boys and girls headed back to the hotel. Couple of the boys and girls had a swim as we awaited for the well prepared supper which we all enjoyed and appreciated. After the supper we had some free time spending time with friends as we settled for bedtime. Can’t wait to see what the final day has for us.
